cutting edge

Charlie Chaplin founded his studios at 1416 N La Brea Avenue, Hollywood in 1917 and since then the location has had a rich history as home to some the world’s most celebrated talents.  Among them are Herb Alpert, Jerry Moss and their record company A&M Records.  In 1999, A&M Records was sold to Universal Music. Subsequently the studio location, including all the recording studio facilities and equipment, was purchased by The Jim Henson Company. Henson Recording Studios was established in 2000 and continues the legacy of technical expertise and excellent service founded by A&M.

Henson Recording Studios has always been cutting edge.  In 2013, Henson studios elected to implement a 200 Kw rooftop Photovoltaic PV system on top of their facility.  Prior to the installation of solar, all roofs were removed and a new TPO single ply roofing system was installed.  The barrel roof structures made for a very difficult installation process, but the final results of the PV installation and design were very unique and state of the art.

System Components:  Sunpower 327E modules, S:Flex mounting system, Aurora Power One String Inverters and Anchor Corps- U-Anchor
